Grundy County Mayor Accepting Nominations for November Volunteer Of The Month

Mayor Michael Brady is accepting nominations for the November Grundy County Volunteer of the Month

In this month of THANKSGIVING, Grundy County Mayor, Michael Brady asks that each of you take this final month to thank those who work tirelessly to volunteer to help others by submitting nominations for Adult Volunteer and Youth Volunteer of the Month of November. The prior honorees will review all monthly county honorees in order to determine the 2017-18 adult and a youth from Grundy County at the 10th Annual Governors Volunteer Stars Award ceremony in Nashville on Sunday, March 11, 2018. The Governors Volunteer Stars is an annual event that is directed by Volunteer Tennessee.

“With this month being the time that we celebrate THANKSGIVING, I ask that we take time to look around you and recognize the people in our communities that we are most thankful for. That person that takes time out of their busy lives to make a difference in the lives of others. As we are remembering all the many blessings that we are given, please take time to help me honor those in our community that are ALWAYS there to help others.”, stated Mayor Brady.

If you have a special person (youth and/or adult) that you would like to nominate for the Tenth Annual Governor’s Stars Award, please send a short narrative about the person and why they should be recognized to Michael Brady, Grundy County Mayor, P O Box 35, Altamont TN 37301 prior to November 30, 2017. The monthly county honorees will be reviewed by a committee of prior honorees. The adult and youth winners from Grundy County will then be recognized at the Governors Volunteer Stars awards ceremony. The winners and their families will be treated to a wonderful afternoon in Franklin while being recognized by the Governor Haslam.

Past winners of the Grundy County Governors Volunteer Stars Awards are Tyler Brown, Jordan Hill, the Hobbs Hill Senior Youth Group, Zachary Gallagher, Kaelyn Roach, Alina Posey, Chynna Fults and Hunter Ladd in the youth division and Angie Burnett, Brenda Campbell, Tommy Curtis & Betty Campbell (brother/sister team), Y. B. Ashby, Karen & Steve Wickham, Wanda Bell, Ray Winton and Roxanne Fults in the adult division. These winners will independently review the nominations and rank them.
