October 2017 Temperature Outlook: Warmer Than Average For Much of East; Colder Than Average in Northwest

Warmer-than-average temperatures are expected to dominate parts of the eastern and central U.S. in October.
The Pacific Northwest can expect overall cooler-than-average conditions in October.
Most areas east of the Rockies can expect a warmer-than-average October while much of the West may see cooler-than-average conditions, according to the latest outlook from The Weather Company, an IBM Business.

After a relatively cool summer for areas from the Plains to the East Coast, the pattern changed in mid-September and this new pattern looks to last into October.
